What's my story?
I'm happy to confess that I failed at ballroom dancing during my formative years, and let's just say I put a whole new spin on break dancing—emphasizing on the word break. In college I dropped my Pre-Med major at the first sight of needles.
Life naturally led me to my true passion–Art. I always loved art and teachers encouraged me to pursue it. I smelled like paint and everything was a DIY project, even before it became a hashtag. Despite my love for imagination, I really fought the notion of being a fine artist for years. Then I discovered advertising at the University of Texas in Austin, and finally, I fell in love with the path destined for me.
As luck would have it, I landed my first job and had the most amazing mentors at agencies like Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi, and Goodby Silverstein & Partners. I also had the chance to learn and work with smart, talented people in various agencies, trying to solve very tough briefs. After winning awards, I was later promoted, started leading teams, and doing some mentoring of my own. I still enjoy conceptualizing and championing the work. I find every project, small or large, to be an exciting opportunity, and I genuinely want brands to succeed.
My story isn't all that different from other creatives who love advertising. I only know that I come in with a commitment to deliver, a proven problem-solving process, and a joie de vivre.
Lastly, if you find yourself needing a dance partner, please hit me up anytime of the day. I'd be up for it.
